    I am curious how much time the author has spent working directly with communities of color or in the classroom. The article seems to attempt to state the obvious with little nuance or input on how families of color, educators of color, or the civil rights community view public education and choice.

      Glad you feel the point made in the post is obvious! Unfortunately, in my experience very few people–in the education sphere and in general–are aware that the way we teach “reading” isn’t supported by scientific evidence.
